Training Methodology

Small amounts of training over extended periods of time helps maintain and train each dog.  They need clear boundaries and to be shown that there is a time to let loose, and a time to be calm and at ease.  The most unsettled dog is one that is constantly in charge of itself with no clear direction or understanding of acceptable behavior.  The most balanced animals  have clear boundaries, and a foundation of training and expectations. They become easier to manage each walk they go on, which in turn will make them more manageable at home and on walks with their owners! Training can be added on to walks at a discounted rate and will jump start their progress when done on a consistent basis. Some of the things I work on are re-call, leash manners, heeling, name recognition, sit, down, stay, ignoring distractions, teaching retrieval or fetch, as well as getting and maintaining focus. I want to help my clients build a strong relationship with their dog and to teach them how to turn training  into a fun experience. I believe in using positive reinforcement as a motivator and  I help them by giving simple and clear directions which helps condition all behaviors.
